This set of photos are sensational!

Love the main image: great stuff.

I also love the combo of photos / race report / riders’ reviews.

    Keep up the great work.

Thanks, Michele. We love putting these pieces together - so getting this sort of feedback makes me us very happy! Thrilled that you’re enjoying them. And yes - that main image. Excellent, isn’t it?

I agree with Michele - “I also love the combo of photos / race report / riders’ reviews.” This is the best format I’ve found on the internet to learn about how a race went without actually getting to watch the video. i’ve become accustomed to great photos on CT (not taking it for granted, though), but also having captions and narratives is a well-rounded experience. Thank you, everyone who works on these, for putting the effort in to make this format happen with such high quality.

Thank you, thank you! We’re having a ton of fun putting these pieces together.

Totally agree with those above, this was a great piece to read through and get a sense of the race, I look forward to reading more!

A Vacuum cleaner for the winner…REALLY!?!?!

    • Michele

Yep, and the first thing Jolien did was give it to a man. Well done, I say!!! :)

I’m pretty sure it ended up with Chloe Hosking, presumably as a ‘thank you’ for the fine lead-out.

    • Bracksy

Don’t worry, soon the feminists will start a twitter trend to stop this despicable act of presenting a vacuum cleaner to a female winner.

Sigh, again. Gifts are terrible, especially from a race organiser organising 3 women’s races in a few days time?! They come from a sponsor, it’s either that or no gifts at all, and the men get the same gifts, last year the men even got a hair straightener. Just so you know, before shouting sexism.

I absolutely love these photos and this article format. It’s wonderful to read and hear from the riders in their own voices. the riders look so strong and beautiful (apart from the race bring ridden in such stunning surrounds!), that it really spurs me on to ride more and push myself to get stronger. Well done Ella crew!

    • Jessi Braverman

Thanks for the compliments - thrilled to hear this inspires you to get out and ride more!

  • saba

Really enjoying Ella, great personal insight into the pro women’s, hopefully this great quality will go towards better exposure. Exciting stuff!!

Is the name VAMberg just a nickname or is it somehow related to the actual name of the hill?

    • Hilde

Actually, the VAMberg is an old dumping ground for garbage, which has now been covered with grass and a few metres of asphalt. ‘VAM’ is nothing more than an abbreviation for ‘Vuil Afvoer Maatschappij’, which is the name of the company that processes the waste. Not very glamorous ;-)

      • Robert Merkel

Cheers, thanks. Not very glamorous, but it sounds it makes for good racing.

Wonder what kinda VAM you need on the VAMberg to be competitive….
