Stage 1 (suggested route): Adelaide to Checker Hill (KOM)

Heading north east out of town we will take the twisting Gorge Road: an absolute must for any cyclist in Adelaide. Stage 2 (suggested route): Adelaide to Stirling (Finish)

The suggested route for today kicks off with a long smooth climb up alongside the freeway, an optional (and highly recommended!) trip up Mt Lofty before heading into Stirling. There is an optional lap of the Mylor circuit (again, highly recommended) before choosing a spot on the hill to watch two laps and the finish in Stirling. The ride home is usually accompanied by the pros!

Stage 4 (suggested route): Adelaide to Mt Barker (Finish)

The suggested route for today takes in some of the wine country en route to the charming German town of Hahndorf. This is a great place to grab a quick coffee and strudel before heading across to Mount Barker to watch the finish of the race. We recommend taking the route back via Stirling and the Old Freeway into town.

Stage 5 (suggested route): Adelaide to Willunga Hill (Finish)

The suggested route for today takes a scenic (and quite lumpy) route out to the infamous Willunga Hill climb. Once you are on the climb pick a good viewing position to watch the race come by before returning for the final climb to the finish. There are several options for the return (and don’t forget you can always take the bike track all the way back to Adelaide)

There is no recommended ride for stage 6 because it’s in the heart of Adelaide. We do recommend, however, that you get out and go for a ride before the stage starts!
