Coffee with a Champion: Scott Sunderland

In this instalment of Coffee with a Champion, Matt Keenan chats with 1986 Australian National Road Race Champion Scott Sunderland. Twenty-eight years on from his victory, Sunderland is now race director of the Road Nationals. In this video he reflects on that breakthrough win at just 19 years of age, his career more generally and the riders of today.

A true hard man of the road. His injuries towards the end of his career were horrendous, in the 1998 Amstel Gold being hit and run over (yes, the wheels passed over him) were unbelievable.
How he still managed to win against all that too. Should have had at least a Classic in his name.
