When using new tires for the first time (especially ones like Michelin Pro Race), make sure you wear-off the wax on the tires that the factory puts on BEFORE racing. They are like ice when going around corners at 45km/hr.
Break-in the tires by riding a dozen laps (the more the better) around the course and carve some turns in the middle of the road when safe to do so.
