I never want to chase the news but I always enjoy talking about the news. From this Wednesday onwards a mystery journalist who will go by the name of “Le Grimpeur” will be reporting on selected news snippets of the week to keep you abreast of what’s happening in pro cycling.
Congratulations to Adam Certo of Melbourne who was the winner of the CPEC ETA Fund Raffle and is now the proud owner of the BMC SLR01 bike that Cadel Evans rode in Geelong as defending World Champion and in the 2010 Giro di Lombardia.
As you might remember, Cadel Evans donated the bike he rode to defend his World Championship title in Geelong at at Giro di Lombardia to be auctioned off. This raised over $16,000 for the Manasarovar Academy which provides schooling facilities for children in Kathmandu.
Cadel Evans has always been a quiet achiever in everything he does. He prefers to simply “do” rather than making a big deal out of things and dressing up with a bunch of showmanship. That’s simply his character and I admire him for that.
