For many Australians and American the ultimate goal is to race in Europe

t’s great to hear from the pros that there is other ways into a pro cycling career. My own hard work, sacrifice, and support will hopefully translate one day!

    Great article!

Another excellent article ;-) A nice complement would be some coverage of the level before this (NRS, Elite Series in NZ, etc) since this is changing rapidly as well for women. Too often, even when the women race on the same course and day as the men, the coverage is “thin” at best.

One of the new options here in NZ is Black Magic Women’s Cycling Team (http://www.bmwcycling.com/) - they are trying to give U19s another route up beyond the CyclingNZ rep teams. I’d love to learn more about the equivalent in Australia, US and UK and who are the promising riders that may hit the pros in the future.

Hi David - We simply don’t have the bandwidth to cover much beyond elite level racing in terms of our race coverage. We’re stretched thin covering even the top level of racing in-depth. With that said - we hope features such as this give readers a glimpse into racing beyond the professional level. Thanks for all the comments today. Have appreciated all your feedback!
