I spent a couple hours chatting away with Darren’s dad at last years st Kilda supercrit. I had no idea who he was, or who his son was. Just recall having an enjoyable conversation, on a nice day, watching a bike race. Then Darren came along after the race to see his Dad, looking like a thoroughbred, mixed with a Ferrari - and brilliantly humble. All I can say, quality guy, from a quality family. Great interview Matt.

I remember the day Darren won the nationals. A few months earlier I was in a break with him at a crit and he nearly rode me off his wheel. I googled his name straight after. It gave me goosebumps watching him at Buninyong. An incredible win by one of the nicest guys you’ll meet.
