How The Season Was Won 2014

There’s more to cycling than crossing the line first—yes, winning is important, but providing critical team support, functioning well under a variety of racing conditions, and keeping the sport exciting and enjoyable to watch throughout the year are all important, too. After all, cycling’s business structure is built on the idea that people are watching. With that in mind, let’s take a look back through the season and determine who really won 2014. Hansen is a great guy, one of those guys u wanne go to a bar with. Also keeps riding grand tours like we ride a normal training ride but still manage to win a stage, awesome! As a Belgian i’m also glad u gave a shout-out to Wellens who did some incredible things this year. Keeping the same distance to Boom isn’t an easy task especially if it’s for the stage win and GC. And don’t forget his agressive riding in general!

oh helllll yeahhhh! I’ve only followed a few seasons of prof. road cycling but hansen has been a big standout for me. first i saw a pic of his bike and i was like “what kind of jackass is this with his janky ass bike setup” then i learned about his shoes, then his giro stage win, then i read about his willingness to experiment and go out side the norm, then i see him posting on the web in response to articles about him (& his shoes), beer hand-ups, learn about him doing like a dozen consecutive grand tours(!!!), the chill attitude, then this season seeing him do a bunch of suicidal/sacrificial attacks from 5-10k from the line, then the vuelta win….. dude fuckin rocks. i really hope he’s able to throw down next season with some more big wins. Adam, if you out there, keep killin’ it! you’re a fuckin inspiration.

    Happens on my end also - finally got it to work after a 4th try? Odd, and frustrating. I get the audio for an Australian bank ad, but no video. And then nothing after the ad.
