Dodging kangaroos bouncing down the road in the dark and the Garmin showing 25% around some corners in the last 2kms of this climb! View made it all worth it!

    Great photo. It’s a nice tough climb that one, with fantastic views, but very few ride it. Just watch out for the roos that jump out occasionally The Grampians National Park is now mostly open again (following the floods 2 years ago), with some fabulous riding. Also nice are reeds lookout, Borooka lookout and the Silverband loop (watch for newly laid road gravel). Also the fires in the area didn’t affect any of these spots. Get up there.

    Yes, yes, yes Mt William. Had planned to go and climb this over easter (combined with a camping trip with the missus and the little’un). Alas, other plans have got in the way. Perhaps November when the weather warms up again.

      Yes! I was planning on taking the DSLR kit and tripod up there.. sooo glad I didn’t given the steepness.. iPhone worked a treat.

    It was 4 degrees the last time I rode up there, hopefully a bit warmer next time.

    Great climb this one. I averaged 470 watts getting up this beast. Nearly killed me. Can’t beat the grampians for training rides. Climbs like this and 6hours in the saddle without a traffic light and <10 cars.

    Very tough but rewarding climb. I went up at xmas time, zigzagging through the clouds up that last 2kms to the summit and found myself above the clouds. see here: http://averageathleeet.wordpress.com/
