Cameron Meyer solos to victory

Cameron Meyer, Orica-GreenEdge, displayed an impressive performance of shear determination to stay out of reach of the chasing peloton for 26 laps to win his third national championships title in his career so far. The initial move was setup by Cameron's brother, Travis Meyer, who had ten seconds advantage till the first intermediate sprint. It was from here, Cam, made his move that saw him being out in the front for the remainder of the race. At the finish line Steele Von Hoff and Leigh Howard battled it out for silver and bronze medals, respectively.

    Nice. Glad to see that even the pros, on a breakaway, ride on the hoods and not on the drops sometimes. Hope that stops all the know-it-alls telling me to “get in the drops” all the time.
