Durbo defends national ITT title

Luke Dubridge, Orica-GreenEdge, in his second year as a professional cyclist successfully defended his 2012 Elite Men's ITT title. Albeit, crashing during the pre-ride a day before the event there was some concern for Durbridge's condition come race day. Durbridge was determined to start his 2013 season with the national title having worked hard throughout December to achieve it. During the second half of the time trial Durbridge's radio stopped working although it wasn't a concern since he was riding very strongly whilst maintaining a high average speed of 51 km/hr in windy conditions. Durbridge had finished 21.2 seconds ahead of South Australian Rohan Dennis who went on to finish second whilst the newly signed Orica-GreenEdge rider, Michael Mathews, finished third.
