Greg LeMond Radio Interview

October 08, 2012

If you have some time today I'd recommend listening to this excellent radio interview with Greg LeMond on his campaign to raise awareness for ADD, his thoughts on doping, and how pro cycling can be cleaned up, his relationship with Armstrong, the UCI, and a wide range of other topics.

i’m pretty sure i have some form of ADD. i can’t just moap around the house or watch random TV shows. i could never sit still in class at school and was always in trouble. cycling is brilliant therapy for it.

      LOL.

^^ and this is the sort of stigmatising i’ve had to suffer!

i posted a link to a talk he gave a few years ago on the paul kimmage post, worth the 40 minutes.

so he reckons big mig was clean … hmmmm interesting.

    • Notso Swift

He didn’t actually say that was clean or dirty, he said he was complicit

  • Notso Swift

Lot of respect for this guy, LeMond and Edwig Van Hooydonck were champions who didn’t want to play in the dirty field

The ADD thing is interesting, may explain some of his comments that are (correct) but made in a rash manner

Greg Lemond would be a great advocate for Paul. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDy5NLVkliU

Lemond has always been a hero.

The only American winner of the Tour de France – what a refreshing change from the other brash, arrogant, and litigious ***hole.

I’ve always had a lot of respect for Lemond without really realising why. Lance kind of spelled it out for me over the last ten years. One thing Greg did make me do a couple years back when he first spoke about this is go and look up ADD and understand what it is. I now realise that I suffer from a mild case of it. Understanding why I didn’t go so well in school even though I know I’m a fairly intelligent person (lol, so says me) makes more sense when you know the reason. I still suffer from it, but I can usually detect when it’s affecting me and try very hard to do something or change something to get around it.

Great interview! Threat of litigation and suing for loss of earnings by Trek just because someone throws into the ring the possibilty of doping by Lance… are they crazy? Sounds like another case of a potential social media avalanche coming Trek’s way… that’ll teach them about who needs who in the business world. And I was just tossing up between Trek or Cannondale for my next upgrade. Nice… it’s always easier when someone else helps you make up your mind. I best be going… gotta make a call to my nearest Cannondale dealer.
