This week Mario Cipolini celebrated his 45th birthday. Pictured here is Cipo winning the 2002 edition of Gent–Wevelgem and has won this race on three occasions. The race first started in 1934 and only three other riders (Robert Van Eenaeme, Rik Van Looy, and Eddy Merckx) apart from Cipo have won this race on three occasions. In 2003, an annoyed Cipo threw a water bottle at the race commissaire for coming in between him and his team car. Does Cavendish have a chance tomorrow as Gent-Wevelgem is often referred to as the sprinters classic due to the flat finish ?
