The finish at top Luz Ardiden was first introduced into Tour de France in 1985. The stage was won by Pedro Delgado and Bernard Hinault was in Yellow. In 2003 on the slopes of Luz Ardiden the famous handbag handle bar incident with Lance Armstrong had occurred. As well as the question still remains did Jan Ullrich wait for Lance?
