Footscray CC Club VUT Crits (2012) - 12 January 2012
Thursday night`s racing at the V.U.T. circuit in Hoppers Crossing saw A-Grade continue with its run of successful breakaways when Dom Dudkiewicz, Brett Hickford and Ben O`Leary cleared off on the chasing bunch; the pressure of the chase proving too much for half of the chasers, with the sprint being taken easily by gun sprinter Dudkiewicz. In B-Grade, a daring last lap lunge by veteran rider Darren Gerber saw him cross a few bike lengths clear of emerging talent Nick Kennedy and guest German UCI rider Christian Schroder. C-Grade saw the ever-improving Arron Liley take another strong win over Leo Brunato and the in-form Ross Schubach to earn himself a berth in B-Grade next Saturday, with D-Grade`s sprint being taken by Alex Southby and E-Grade`s sprint by Emma Payne.
A-Grade: A: 1st Dom Dudkiewicz, 2nd Brett Hickford, 3rd Ben O`Leary, 4th Jason Costin & 5th Shaun Gatter.
B-Grade: 1st Darren Gerber, 2nd Nick Kennedy, 3rd Christian Schroder, 4th Paul Kenny & 5th Antonio Marino.
C-Grade: 1st Arron Liley, 2nd Leo Brunato, 3rd Ross Schubach, 4th Travis Small, 5th Darryl Beovich.
D-Grade: 1st Alex Southby, 2nd Peter Bloink, 3rd Simon Perryman, 4th William Hamilton & 5th Dal O`Brien.
E-Grade: 1st Emma Payne, 2nd David Cheetham
